Two new exhibits including collages by Carol Toner Shane and a doll collection from a local collector will be on display at the Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Learning Center from Thursday, Nov. 3, through Tuesday, Dec. 20. The exhibits are free and open to the public.
The exhibit walls will feature a sampling of collages from Shane’s “Cancelled” series, including both small and large format collages initiated from cancelled postage stamps and incorporating other found objects.
Shane, an artist from Pennsylvania, is a former Morningside College art instructor.
The learning center’s display cases will feature a selection of antique and modern dolls from the collection of Bonnie Rossman of Sioux City. The dolls include antique, vintage, composition, fashion, and modern dolls.
Hours at the Hickman- Johnson-Furrow Learning Center are Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.; Fridays, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Saturdays, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.; and Sundays, 1 p.m. - 11 p.m.
