Morningside opera theatre to perform scenes from Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro”

Morningside College opera theatre will perform scenes from Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro” on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Avenue.

Shannon Salyards and Kate Saulsbury are set to direct opera theatre students with guest director Gary Briggle as they perform a series of scenes from Mozart’s classic opera in English.

Briggle has a Bachelor of Music voice degree from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and he has received training from the Minnesota Opera Studio and the University of Minnesota. He has been a freelance professional actor since 1982 and professional stage director with regional theatre and opera companies nationwide since 1980.

Students in the cast or crew are Nick Anderson of Sioux City, Iowa, John Calahan of Lincoln, Neb, Justin Dixson of Le Mars, Iowa, Beth Fish of Carroll, Iowa, Haley Gabriel of Holdrege, Neb, Autumn Knipp of Elberon, Iowa, Scott Kruse of Guthrie Center, Iowa, Blair Remmers of Alton, Iowa, Courtney Ruff of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Nancy Seeman of Stanton, Neb, Jaimie Stevicks and Ariel Turnquist of Alta, Iowa, Nolley Vereen of Sioux City, and Elijah Wolf of Denison, Iowa.
