Sioux City and Norfolk teams advance to final round of Quiz Bowl tournament

Teams from North High School in Sioux City and Norfolk High School in Norfolk, Neb., will compete for the 2011 Morningside College Quiz Bowl Tournament championship in a contest that will be broadcast at 11 a.m. May 22 on KCAU-TV.

Fourteen weeks of Quiz Bowl competition have narrowed down the field of 16 high school teams that won their way to the televised competition after taking part in a preliminary Quiz Bowl tournament Jan. 15 on the Morningside College campus. The preliminary tournament involved teams from 22 high schools

Each 30-minute Quiz Bowl broadcast on KCAU-TV features two teams vying for points by correctly answering questions that range over the entire spectrum of a high school curriculum and current events.
