Valerie Hennings, visiting instructor of history and political science at Morningside College, recently presented a paper at the annual Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) conference in Chicago, and she will present another paper in September at the annual American Political Science Association (APSA) conference in Washington, D.C.
At the MPSA conference, Hennings presented “Political Activities and Policy Preferences of Asian American Women: Analysis and Comparison with Other Race-Sex Groups,” a paper she co-authored with Saemyi Park, a doctoral candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
At the APSA conference, Hennings will present “Learning to Lead: State-Based Political Leadership Programs and Women’s Political Participation.”
Hennings is a doctoral candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a 2001 graduate of Morningside College.
