Dr. John Pinto and alumnus John Steele

publish joint research article

Dr. John Pinto, professor of psychology at Morningside College, and John Steele, 2005 graduate of Morningside College, are co-authors of “Influence of Leader Trust on Policy Agreement” published in the spring 2006 issue of Psi Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research.


The article examines the psychological relationship between trust in a direct leader and blind agreement of workers to a new organizational policy.


Psi Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research is a national, fully reviewed, quarterly journal dedicated to the publication of undergraduate student research. It is published by Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology.


Pinto joined the Morningside faculty in 1981, where he teaches social and industrial/ organizational psychology and statistics. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, and a doctorate from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.


Steele, a 2001 graduate of North High School in Sioux City, received his bachelor’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology and business administration at Morningside. He is currently a graduate student and research assistant at Kansas State University in Manhattan, where he is studying industrial and organizational psychology.
