Dr. Marty Knepper, professor and chair of English at Morningside College, will attend the Shakespeare in Performance II conference held June 28 – 30, at Drew University in Madison, N.J.
The Shakespeare in Performance II conference includes studies in stage history, physical playhouse, actors' and directors' comments, critical analysis of plays on stage and screen, and teaching Shakespeare through performance. The conference is sponsored by The Caspersen School of Graduate Studies at Drew University in collaboration with the English Department and the Shakespeare Company of New Jersey.
Knepper, a member of Morningside’s faculty since 1984, teaches and writes about British literature, classics, women and literature, writing, and popular culture. She has taught Shakespeare at Morningside since 1985 and annually leads trips to the American Players Theatre in Spring Green, Wis., to see Shakespearean plays.
Knepper has a bachelor’s degree from Morningside College, a master’s degree in English from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and a doctorate in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
