Morningside College senior Jenna Rehnstrom, daughter of David and Laurie Rehnstrom of Hartington, Neb., was awarded the 2005 Greater Sioux City Press Club scholarship during the mayor’s press conference held on Friday, May 20, in downtown Sioux City.
Rehnstrom is majoring in mass communication with an emphasis in electronic media. She is a 2002 graduate of Hartington Public School.
Rehnstrom received a $1,000 scholarship. Each year the Greater Sioux City Press Club awards one $1,000 scholarship, which is applied to the recipients' tuition for his/her junior or senior year of college. To qualify, applicants must be a sophomore or junior who has declared a major in mass communication or journalism and is a full-time student at Briar Cliff University, Buena Vista University, Dordt College, Morningside College, Northwestern College, University of South Dakota, or Wayne State College. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA).
