After a day of sightseeing in Prague, the choir performed
the final concert of the tour at St. John's Church in Praque
on May 16. For the seniors, it was a very emotional evening,
because it was the last concert of their Morningside career.
After the concert, as is their custom, the choir members joined
in a circle and sang the Morningside hymn together. Tears
and hugs were shared in abundance at the end of the song.
Today is the last day of the tour, with a closing banquet
to be held tonight. Tomorrow the choir travels home. (Because
of limited Internet access, more photos will not be posted
until May 19--be sure to check back then!)

The choir had a beautiful 6-hour drive through the countryside of
Austria and the Czech Republic and arrived in Prague safely. On the
way they sang for mass at a church in a small Austrian village and
afterwards gave a concert, which again was well received by the
townspeople.

The performance at the Schönbrunn Palace on May 13 went well,
with a large crowd taking time from walking around the palace grounds
to listen
to the students. Later that day, the choir traveled to the small
town of Gross Siegharts, about 137 kilometers from Vienna. They
performed in the town's beautiful 300-year-old church and gave
their best performance yet to the receptive townspeople. They
arrived safely back in Vienna and had the day off today for sightseeing.
Tomorrow they leave bright and early for Prague.

May 12, 2005

hours from Budapest.
