Russian pianist Denis Evstuhin will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave., on the Morningside College campus.
Evstuhin’s program for the recital, which is free and open to the public, will include four impromptus by Chopin, the Spanish Rhapsody by Liszt, Haydn's Sonata in F major and two works by Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliet at Parting and the Sonata No. 7 in B-flat major.
Evstuhin has performed in major cities and venues throughout Germany, Austria, Spain, Russia, France, Switzerland, Finland, Poland, Estonia and the United States. In addition to winning the Iowa Piano Competition held in Sioux City in 2009, he also has been a prize winner in the Rachmaninoff, Balakirev and Andorra international competitions. He is a laureate of the 2010 Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland.
Evstuhin holds degrees from the St. Petersburg Conservatory and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance at the University of Minnesota.
