Student government officers are elected

The executive committee for student government has been elected for the 2008-09 academic year.

The newly elected students and their hometowns are Tarah Sagedahl, East Bethel, Minn., president; Jonalee Jackes, Le Mars, Iowa, vice president; Kendra Kock, Breda, Iowa, treasurer; Lisa Vavra, O’Neill, Neb., secretary; and Alex Watters, Sioux City, Iowa, student advocate.

About 300 students participated in the election.

This executive committee will lead the larger body that makes up the student government. There are two senators for each class, and there is one representative for every 60 students in a residence hall. These students will be elected in the fall.
