Clips which illustrate how HIV and AIDS have been depicted in film and television will be shown at Morningside College at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13, in the UPS Auditorium of Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave.
The public is invited to the free event, which is sponsored by Morningside’s Academic and Cultural Arts Series (ACAS) and the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA).
“The clips feature characters who have HIV or AIDS,” said Gail Dooley, an associate professor of music and the GSA faculty advisor. “The purpose is to show how these portrayals have changed over the last 20 years.”
GSA members will introduce the clips. Teri Langholz, a registered nurse from the Siouxland Community Health Center, will also be hand as a resource for information about HIV and AIDS.
