Karen Skalka and Emily Welcher, both senior art students at Morningside College, will hold a joint art exhibition Thursday, March 16, through Wednesday, March 22, in Eppley Art Gallery, 3625 Garretson Avenue. An artists’ reception will be held on Saturday, March 18, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the gallery. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
“Isn’t That Cute” by Skalka will include illustrations, graphic design, and photography as well as work portraying a new twist on the original teddy bear, from initial design to final promotional packaging.
“Transitions” by Welcher will feature printmaking, sculptural work, drawings, and paintings produced in the course of four years of study at Morningside.
Eppley Art Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
