Dr. James March, pianist and professor of music at Morningside College, will give a chamber music recital on Tuesday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Avenue. The free recital is open to the public.
March will perform three selections for the recital including Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor, Pampeana No. 2, Opus 21, “Rhapsody for Cello and Piano,” by Alberto Ginastera, and Robert Schumann’s Piano Quintet.
Accompanying March for the Piano Quartet will be violinist Eunho Kim, adjunct instructor of music at Morningside and faculty member for the Leo Kucinski Academy of Music; violist Arian Sheets, member of group Dakota Baroque and Classic Company and curator of stringed instruments at the National Music Museum in Vermillion, S.D.; and cellist Stephanie March, junior at Bishop Heelan Catholic High School.
Stephanie March will also accompany Dr. March for the performance of Pampeana No. 2.
The Euclid Quartet, including violinists Jameson Cooper and Jacob Murphy, violist Luis Vargas, and cellist Amy Joseph, will accompany March for the performance of the Piano Quintet.
