Dr. Gail Dooley, soprano and associate professor of music at Morningside College, will give a faculty recital on Sunday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Avenue. The recital is free and open to the public.
Dooley’s program will include works by Italian composer Stefano Donaudy and American composers Alan Smith, Samuel Barber, and Dominick Argento.
Dooley will be accompanied on piano by Michele Grossman, adjunct instructor of piano at Morningside, and on viola by Luis Vargas, member of the Euclid Quartet and adjunct instructor of music at Morningside.
Also joining Dooley for a performance of French composer Ernest Chausson’s “Chanson Perpétuelle” will be the Morningside College String Quartet. Members of the quartet include students Ilisja Sheri and Judy Leinen on violin; Justin Taylor on viola; and Euclid Quartet member Amy Joseph on cello. Joseph is adjunct instructor of music at Morningside and directs the quartet.
