Morningside College presents the Many Moccasins Dance Troupe

Morningside College’s Betty Ling Tsang Summer Fine Arts Series presents the Many Moccasins Dance Troupe at 7 p.m. on June 24 in the Buhler Outdoor Performance Center, 3625 Garretson Ave., on the college’s campus.

The Many Moccasins Dance Troupe is an ensemble of professional performers, from Winnebago, Neb., who utilize traditional Native American style of dance and incorporate their own unique theatrical twist.

Randy Peters, artistic director for the Betty Ling Tsang Summer Fine Arts Series, said the dance troupe’s performance is a spectacular display of Native American culture unlike any other.

“It is a great opportunity to see something different and will be a great part of this year’s series,” Peters said.

In the event of rain, the performance will move to Klinger-Neal Theatre, 3700 Peters Ave., on the Morningside campus.

Remaining performance in the 2011 Betty Ling Tsang Summer Fine Arts Series include the musical revue “The Music Man” on July 8 and 9; the one-woman show “The Belle of Amherst” with Barbara Kingsley on July 22 and 23; the children’s musical “Hansel and Gretel” on August 5 and 6; and Quartus, a rock/jam band, on August 20. All performances are free and open to the public.
