Morningside College announces changes in College for Youth’s “Pathways to Higher Learning” programs

Morningside College has announced changes in several of its College for Youth's (CFY) Pathways to Higher Learning programs. The changes include extension of registration deadlines for three courses, cancellation of five courses, and a significant tuition reduction.

The registration deadline for “Astronomy: Stars and Galaxies,” scheduled for July 5-16, has been extended to July 5. The registration for “Building Your Home on the Web,” scheduled for July 18-22, has been extended to July 1. The registration deadline for “Rocket Science,” scheduled for August 1-5, has been extended to July 15.

The following courses have been cancelled: “Classical Probability,” “Forensics-Who Done It?” “Anatomy of a Big Mac,” “Digital Video Production,” and “All About Light.” In addition, the residential component of the 2005 “Pathways” program has been cancelled. Course fees have been reduced to $200 per week to reflect these changes. Other CFY programs are unaffected by the changes. For more information and updates, visit www.collegeforyouth.org.

“Pathways to Higher Learning” is a college-level program for academically gifted high school students. Students may complete one course for college credit for each week they participate. The interactive courses are led by college faculty.

To register for a “Pathways” course or for more information, contact Dr. Gary Turner, assistant professor in engineering and physics at Morningside College, at 712-274-5203.
