Morningside College will present “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, July 12, and 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, in the Buhler Outdoor Performance Center, 3625 Garretson Ave., on the college’s campus.
The free performances are part of Morningside’s Betty Ling Tsang Summer Fine Arts Series. Based on the classic fairy tale, “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” includes chase scenes, crazy characters, and songs for audience members of all ages.
The audience can relax on benches or bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the show on the lawn in front of the performance center. In the event of rain, performances will move to Klinger-Neal Theatre, 3700 Peters Ave., on the Morningside campus.
Construction on the Morningside campus restricts parking near, and access to, the Buhler Outdoor Performance Center. Parking is available behind the Olsen Student Center on Peters Avenue, in the Lewis Hall visitor lot, in the Facilities Services lot along Garretson Avenue and in the east portion of the Grace United Methodist Church lot.
The Betty Ling Tsang Summer Fine Arts Series is named for the late Betty Ling Tsang, a 1940 Morningside College music graduate. It is designed to bring quality music and theatre performances to residents of the Sioux City area.
The final production for the 2013 summer fine arts series will be “Guys and Dolls” on Aug. 9 and 10. All performances in the series are free and open to the public.
