Morningside College to present “Cinderella”

Morningside College will present a “Cinderella” production tailored for the whole family at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, July 20, and 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, in the Buhler Outdoor Performance Center, 3625 Garretson Ave., on the college’s campus.

The free performances are part of the Betty Ling Tsang Summer Fine Arts Series at Morningside College.

It is a goal of the summer fine arts series to kindle in children a lifelong love of the arts. This production will feature some of the most memorable theatre characters ever – a beautiful young girl, a forgetful fairy godmother and two unforgettable stepsisters. It also will include a crazy chase scene. The production has been created by Stan Gill and Cindy Bright.

In the event of rain, performances will move to Klinger-Neal Theatre, 3700 Peters Avenue, on the Morningside campus.

The Betty Ling Tsang Summer Fine Arts Series is named for the late Betty Ling Tsang, a 1940 Morningside College music graduate. It is designed to bring free, quality music and theatre performances to residents of the Sioux City area.

Also scheduled for this summer is “Fiddler on the Roof” (concert version) on Aug. 10 and 11. All performances are free and open to the public.
