A Morningside College student was one of 40 students from across the country who recently participated in the Omicron Delta Kappa Campus Leaders Today, Community Leaders Tomorrow 2011 program.
Shelby Powell, a 2009 graduate of Sioux City North High School, participated in the program, which is designed to prepare students for service as board members for nonprofit organizations. She traveled to Richmond, Va., for a series of lectures and discussions, and she experienced a meeting with selected nonprofit board and staff members.
Omicron Delta Kappa is a national leadership honor society for college students that recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character. The society is present on the campuses of over 300 colleges around the country.
