Russo is known for various musical feats, especially his performance of George Crumb’s “A Little Suite For Christmas, A.D. 1979,” in 2001 at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, making him the first person ever to perform on the inside of the piano in this event. He has 11 commercial recordings to his name, as well as a 2007 Grammy nomination for his release of music by John Corigliano.
