A Heelan High School graduate will return to Sioux City to perform at Morningside College with the Studzinski Trio from the Eastman School of Music at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave. This is the third performance in the five-concert Piano Recital Series at Morningside College.

Cellist Stephanie March, 19, is a Sioux City native and the daughter of James and Kathryn March, both of whom have held positions in the Morningside College Music Department since 1986.  At age 12, she was the youngest person to be hired to perform with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra.

The Studzinski Trio is a chamber music ensemble at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y., where March is currently a student.

Members of the group include March, violinist Amy Yi and pianist Tian Tian.  The trio will be performing the “C Major Trio” by Mozart, “Café Music” by Paul Schoenfield and the “B Major Trio” by Johannes Brahms.

General admission is $15 and free for students with a Morningside ID.  Tickets are available at the door or by contacting the Morningside College Music Office at (712) 274-5210.

Musicians who will perform at later recitals in the series include Robert Marshall Auler, an award-winning American concert pianist; and Feilin Lin, who will make her solo piano debut at Carnegie Hall this May.
