The Morningside College Dance Team competed in the 2006 Marching Auxiliaries Midwest Regional Championships held Saturday, Jan. 21, at South Sioux City High School in South Sioux City, Neb. The team received awards for best team performance and choreography in the open category and superior ratings on both their pom routine and team performance.
The team also received first place in both their pom routine and team performance at the third annual Dakota Valley Cheer and Dance Classic held Saturday, Jan. 7, at Dakota Valley High School in North Sioux City, S.D.
Morningside’s Dance Team has qualified to compete in the 2006 National Dance Association’s (NDA) Chick-fil-A Cheer and Dance Collegiate Championships to be held April 5-9, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Morningside College Dance Team is coached by Tracy Bennett.

Sioux City: Miranda Heyer-Stroh, Tricia Slump.
Iowa: Ashley Brewer and Teryn Pomerenke, Sergeant Bluff; Jessica Hansen, Granville; Jonalee Jackes and Skye Slater, Le Mars; Tiffany Pribyl, Crescent; and Tiffany Taylor, Villisca.
Other states and countries: Janina Lowry-Luther, Maple Grove, Minn.; Himi Mizutani and Hitomi Nozawa, Japan.
