Heather Norris, financial literary officer for Iowa Student Loan will present “Finances in the Real World” on Wednesday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the formal lounge of Roadman Hall, 3600 Peters Avenue.

The presentation is a resource to help students prepare to make the transition from college to the working world after their graduation. Norris will provide tips and strategies about how to budget money, evaluate job offers, understand benefits packages, and prepare to take on the responsibilities associated with life after college.
The public is invited to the free event, which is sponsored by Morningside’s Academic and Cultural Arts Series (ACAS).

Norris will host a credit card management workshop earlier in the day from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Yockey Room of the Olsen Student Center, 3609 Peters Avenue. The workshop will help students determine if they are ready for a credit card, provide tips and strategies for selecting and using credit cards, and offer alternatives to credit card use.

Both programs are part of the Iowa Student Loan Financial Literacy Series. The series provides colleges and universities with services to help educate students on topics related to personal finance management.

Norris joined the Iowa Student Loan staff in June of 2006. She has helped expand the Financial Literacy Series by developing new student-friendly brochures and presentations on a variety of topics and has provided numerous presentations to colleges and universities across the state.
