Betty Ling Tsang Summer Fine Arts Series

Morningside College recently announced the fifth season of the Betty Ling Tsang Summer Fine Arts Series, and it will hold auditions in March for the summer productions.

Events on the schedule include “Rent” on June 8 and 9; an elementary through high school Musical Theatre Camp with Lincoln Street Music Studio from June 18 to 22; a Sioux City Symphony pops concert with fireworks on June 30; “Cinderella” on July 20 and 21; and “Fiddler on the Roof” (Concert Version) on Aug. 10 and 11.

Auditions for “Rent,” “Cinderella” and “Fiddler on the Roof” will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 17 and 18, beginning at 1 p.m. each day in Klinger-Neal Theatre, 3700 Peters Ave., on the Morningside campus. Participants are asked to bring an up-tempo piece of their choosing. A pianist will be provided.

The summer fine arts series is named for the late Betty Ling Tsang, a 1940 Morningside College music graduate. It is designed to bring free, quality music and theatre performances to residents of the Sioux City area. Performances take place in the Buhler Outdoor Performance Center on the Morningside campus, with the rain location being Klinger-Neal Theatre.
