Two Morningside College students have been nominated for Intercollegiate Broadcast System awards. Nick Brincks of Carroll, Iowa, and Ryan Tellinghuisen of Bradenton, Fla, were nominated for awards for their work at Morningside College’s student radio station, KMSC Fusion 93.
Winners of the awards will be announced at an awards presentation at the 73rd Annual Intercollegiate Broadcast System Conference March 2-4 in New York City.
Brincks is a finalist for the best promo series for his promotions for his classic rock program “On the Brinck,” and a finalist in the best newscast series for his reports on campus activity.
Brincks and Tellinghuisen are finalists in the best public service announcement category for their Boys Club of Sioux City promotion.
To be considered for an award, newscasts and programs must be well-written, timely and delivered at an appropriate pace with proper voice inflection.
The Intercollegiate Broadcast System is an organization of over 1,000 non-profit, education-affiliated radio stations. Intercollegiate Broadcast System is a member of the National Association of Broadcasters.
