Morningside College recently announced the winners of the all-campus student art show, which is on exhibit through Sunday, March 11, in the Eppley Art Gallery, 3625 Garretson Ave.
Sammi Grella of Beatrice, Neb. was awarded first place for her photograph “Caught Red-Handed”; Jessica Sievers of North Sioux City, S.D. was awarded second place for her acrylic painting titled “Mother”; and John Kelley of Sioux City was awarded third place for his plaster sculpture titled “In & Out.”
Honorable mentions were awarded to Jessica Boschen of Newman Grove, Neb. for her photograph titled “Frozen”; and Tymmrie Rath of Sioux City for her acrylic painting called “Delanie.”
The show was juried by Al Harris-Fernandez, director of the Sioux City Art Center.
The all-campus student art show features painting, drawing, photography, graphic design, printmaking and sculpture. It is free and open to the public. The Eppley Art Gallery is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
