A photography exhibit
by Morningside's photographer-in-residence and Westfield,
Iowa, artist Dolie Thompson will be on display at the Eppley
Art Gallery on the campus of Morningside College through Sept.
26. A public reception
for the artist is scheduled for Sunday,
Sept. 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Eppley Art Gallery,
3625 Garretson Avenue.
The exhibit features
still-life compositions of books, nature, and artifacts from
the past, developed using platinum/palladium, color, toned
silver gelatin, and Van Dyke printing processes.
Thompson has been
the recipient of two Iowa Arts Council grants and has had
work exhibited at several galleries and museums, including
the Des Moines Art Center, Arizona State University, the University
of South Dakota, and the Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar
Falls, Iowa.
Thompson received her master's in fine
art from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah,
Georgia.
Eppley Art Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. , Monday through
Friday.
