Three Morningside College student jazz ensembles will perform on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Buckingham’s Snack Bar, located in the lower level of the Olsen Student Center, 3609 Peters Avenue.
The public is invited to the free event, which is sponsored by Morningside’s Academic and Cultural Arts Series (ACAS).
The student jazz ensembles are: Jazz Anonymous, comprised of Andrew Johnson of Bronson, Iowa, on trombone and Gina Gernhart of Kingsley, Iowa, on alto saxophone.
Miles of Fun, comprised of Emily Cox of Council Bluffs, Iowa, on clarinet and Luke Evans of Ogden, Iowa, on trombone.
Ongacks, made up of Mike Wismont of Crescent, Iowa, on trumpet and Keisuke Mukai of Tokyo, Japan, on tenor saxophone.
Each combo will use the same rhythm section consisting of pianist Anna Stanek of Sioux City, bassist Nathaniel Chesher of Nevada, Iowa, and drummer Nick Anderson of Sioux City.
Each ensemble will announce their selections and perform an approximate 15-minute set in an informal club style setting.
