The Music Department at Morningside College has announced the formation of the Morningside Camerata, a new ensemble for strings.
The Morningside Camerata is a student-faculty collaboration and includes string students who study at the college plus the four members of the Euclid Quartet and Joseph Shufro, associate professor of music. The group was organized to take advantage of the Euclid Quartet’s residency at Morningside College and to provide a venue for the growing number and quality of string students who study at Morningside.
“The Camerata offers a unique and valuable opportunity for students to work in a collaborative rather than traditional student/teacher relationship with the Euclid Quartet,” said Shufro.
