Morningside College
has released the schedule for its spring 2005 graduate courses
leading to graduate teaching endorsements
or a master of arts in teaching. Graduate classes are
offered on the campus of Morningside College and at various
extended campus locations in Emmetsburg, Sheldon, Fort Dodge,
and Denison in collaboration with Area Education Agencies.
Morningside's graduate
program is accredited by the Iowa Department of Education
and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education
(NCATE). Of the 30-some institutions in Iowa with teacher-training
programs, only five are accredited by NCATE, and Morningside
College is one of only two institutions that have received
accreditation for both their undergraduate and graduate teacher
training programs.
For the fall 2004
semester 388 teachers from across the state were enrolled
in the graduate programs, which are designed to meet the needs
of Iowa's teachers. Courses are delivered in traditional classroom
settings, at various Iowa Communications Network sites, and
online via the Internet.
