Jessica deVega, assistant professor of religious studies at Morningside College, was one of only 24 college faculty members from around the country selected to participate in a recent seminar sponsored by the Center for Hellenic Studies at Harvard University and the Council of Independent Colleges.
The seminar, which was held in Washington, D.C., addressed the challenges of incorporating Greek classical texts such as the “Iliad,” “Odyssey” and Herodotus’ “Histories” into undergraduate courses.
Seminar participants were selected through a competitive nomination process.
DeVega joined the Morningside faculty in 2007. She has a doctorate in religions of Western antiquity from Florida State University in Tallahassee.
