Morningside College will welcome more than 350 freshman students to campus during orientation activities scheduled from Friday, August 20, through Tuesday, August 24. Fall semester classes for all Morningside students begin Wednesday, August 25.
Freshmen will move into residence halls from 8 a.m. to noon on August 20. Other events scheduled during the day include an orientation lunch in the Olsen Student Center, welcomes from Morningside College President John Reynders and Robin Reynders, a reception on the college’s Hilker Campus Mall and distribution of notebook computers.
According to Shari Benson, director of first-year students at Morningside, the five-day freshman orientation schedule is designed to help students make the transition to college life.
“We have planned a variety of activities that make it easier for Morningside’s Class of 2014 to get better acquainted with each other and our campus,” Benson said. “By the end of orientation, the freshmen also will be ready to successfully start their first year of classes at Morningside.”
