Morningside College will induct students into the Morningside College Leadership Academy during a ceremony that will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. in the Yockey Family Community Room in the Olsen Student Center, 3609 Peters Avenue.
Debi Durham, president of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce/The Siouxland Initiative will give the keynote address. Jenna Rehnstrom, an evening news anchor at KCAU-TV and a Morningside graduate, will be the emcee for the ceremony.
Fifty students who are interested in further developing their leadership skills will be inducted into the academy. They will do this by attending seminars led by area business leaders and conducting semester-long service learning projects that will address needs in the community.
Students inducted into the Leadership Academy will live in Lags Hall, a new single-bedroom apartment-style residence hall, which includes a community room and a fitness center.
