The Morningside College Theatre and Dance Department is offering three summer youth programs for students looking to develop vocal and theatrical skills.
Morningside College Young Artists Performance Institute will be held from June 16 to June 22 on the Morningside campus. The seven-day, full residential program that includes room and board is for ninth to twelfth graders who want to expand their skills as singers and actors.
The Morningside Show Choir Camp will be held from June 24 to June 28 on Morningside’s campus. Each day runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a performance to cap the camp at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28. The camp offers students in eighth grade to twelfth grade an opportunity to develop vocal and dance skills for participation in their school’s show choirs and musicals.
The Lincoln Street Music Studio from Polk City, Iowa, will conduct the second annual Fine Arts on Broadway musical theatre camp at Morningside from June 24 to June 28. The camp offers a chance for students in kindergarten through eighth grade to learn the three elements of musical theatre: singing, dancing and acting. Each day goes from 8 to 11:30 a.m. with a performance at 6 p.m. Friday, June 28 at the Buhler Outdoor Performance Center located on Morningside’s campus.
