Morningside College student receives leadership award

The Morningside College chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) recently recognized Samantha Sorenson of Omaha, Neb., as the Student Leader of the Month for April.

ODK is a national leadership honor society that recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character.

Sorenson is a junior majoring in nursing and minoring in Spanish. She is involved in residence life, cheerleading, Morningside Student Nurses Association, Morningside Activities Council and Spanish Club. She is the apartment manager for Lags Hall and will be the head apartment manager for the 2012-2013 school year. 

She received this award for being actively involved on campus by setting up service projects, assisting her residents with whatever they need, providing excellent programming, maintaining a great attitude, and being a hard worker in the classroom.
