A 30-minute documentary film about the July 19, 1989, crash of United Airlines Flight 232 at Sioux City’s Gateway Airport will premiere on Wednesday, April 20, at 7 p.m. in the UPS Auditorium in the Lincoln Center.
The film “Flight 232: Siouxland Comes Together” was written, produced, filmed, and edited by Morningside College students Darija Ljubibratic, a senior from Sioux City, and Sheila Partridge, a senior from Leavenworth, Kan. The material for the film came from interviews Ljubibratic and Partridge conducted with Siouxlanders who were involved with the crash.
The students began working on the film last spring while taking the class “Writing for the Media: Seminar in Documentary Film Writing.”
The premiere will include an introduction followed by a discussion open to questions and comments.
