The Morningside College Dance Team received a third place award at the National Cheer and Dance Association (NCA/NDA) competition March 18-23, in New York City.
The team performed a routine that combined pom, jazz, funk, and kick skills.
The team also competed at the United Performing Association’s (UPA) regional competition held in January at Dakota Valley High School in North Sioux City, S.D. The team entered two routines and received first place awards for both, as well as the “high score” trophy for the highest point total that day.
The dance team also received a first place award for jazz choreography and a number one rating for their pom routine at the Marching Auxiliaries regional competition held in January at the South Sioux City High School in South Sioux City, Neb. The dance team was subsequently invited to perform for the Iowa High School’s State Drill Team Competition this coming December.

Minnesota: RaeAnn Enney, Cambridge.
