The 2004 Youth Annual
Conference (YAC) of the United Methodist Church of Iowa will
be held Friday through Sunday, June 25-27, on the campus of
Morningside College .
"Catch the Wave"
is the theme for this year's conference, which is expected
to draw nearly 200 participants from across the state. Youth
Annual Conference is a leadership development event that provides
an opportunity for committed youth and adult workers with
youth to unite for Christian fellowship, networking, leadership
training, ministry workshops, and support. Attendees will
also have the opportunity to attend caucuses to elect youth
representatives for the Iowa Annual Conference of the United
Methodist Church.
Highlights of the
weekend will include an opening worship service with Iowa
Conference Bishop Gregory V. Palmer on Friday, June 25 at
7 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium. The Christian band, "Crossed,"
will be performing at each worship service and throughout
the weekend. The Reverend Jim Hanke, Sioux City district superintendent,
will conduct worship services on Saturday, June 26, at 7 p.m.
in Eppley Auditorium. The Reverend Lanette Plambeck, Morningside
College campus minister, will hold services on Sunday, June
27, at 11 a.m. , also at Eppley Auditorium. All worship services
are open to the public.
