Morningside College will host several volleyball camps during the month of July. The camps will be held in the Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center/Allee Gymnasium, 3415 Peters Avenue, on the Morningside campus.
The camp instructors will include Morningside head coach Sara Horn along with the Mustangs’ assistant coaches and members of the volleyball team.
An Elite Camp for girls entering grades 7-12 will be held Monday through Wednesday, July 14 to 16, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 5 p.m. Cost is $200 for campers without meals and $225 for campers with meals. The camp is designed to teach players the latest skills and techniques of offensive and defensive play.
A Youth Camp for girls entering grades 2-5 will be held Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $40.
A Middle School Camp for girls entering grades 6-8 will be held Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Cost is $50.
The Youth and Middle School Camps are designed to introduce and improve the skills of passing, setting, hitting, defense, serving, and blocking. Basic techniques will be introduced and will be taught within the framework of team play.
A High School Team Camp will be held on Saturday, July 19. Cost is $20 per player. Varsity teams will play multiple games against other teams in a tournament setting to allow teams to work on team play. Teams will be guaranteed at least four matches.
