and his wife Joyce observed their 65th wedding anniversary on March 7, 2012. They will celebrate with a family reunion later in the summer. They have four children, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. James is a retired vocational carpentry teacher for the Sioux City Community Schools and Joyce is a retired secretary for Interbake Foods, Inc.

Frances (Wormley) Hansen and her husband Larry, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 17, 2012 with a family dinner. The couple have four daughters, 15 grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren and reside in Kingsley, Iowa.

Alaire (Swedland) Willits was honored at the 28th annual Women of Excellence recognition dinner in Sioux City, Iowa on March 27, 2012. Of six different categories, Willits was named a woman of excellence for Women Helping Women.
Charese Yanney of Sioux City, Iowa, was appointed to the Iowa State Transportation
Commission and the Vision Iowa Board on February 29, 2012 by Governor Terry Branstad.
She was also elected to serve on the 2012 Siouxland Community Foundation board in Sioux City, Iowa.
Linda Brant has edited three young adult paranormal novels written by her niece, Nancy
Straight. The titles are: Meeting Destiny, Destiny's Revenge, and Destiny's Wrath and are
available on e-book and paperback. Linda is an English/Drama teacher at Charles City High
School in Charles City, Iowa.

Dan Pomerenke retired from teaching after 36 years in the Sioux City Community School District, the last 30 years at East Middle School. Pomerenke also finished his 30th and final year of coaching East High School girl's basketball. He will continue coaching 8th grade girl's basketball at East Middle School. And for the 15th consecutive year, Dan will continue to head the girl's East High School girl's tennis team.
Ken Beekley retired from the Siouxland Community Foundation Board and was recognized for his six years of service to the board.
John Steele won the best investor relations by a cfo in the small cap category at Cipriani Wall Street, a block from the NY stock exchange where they went for the closing bell and reception prior to the awards dinner. Small cap means all public companies with a
stock market value less than 2 billion dollars.
Gwen (Huldeen) Ecklund of Denison, Iowa, was appointed to the Iowa State Board of
Barbering on February 29, 2012 by Governor Terry Branstad.
Sandy Winter and Julie Krauth co-coach the girls basketball team at Corning Community School. They have been chosen to coach the Senior All-Star Game for Class 1A in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on April 1, 2012. Winter is also a K-12 Art Instructor, Cross Country and Track Coach at Corning Community School in Corning, Iowa.
Christine Zellmer-Zant joined the sales team at United Real Estate Solutions in Sioux City, Iowa. She has served on the Woodbury County Adjustment Board, the Woodbury Counting zoning Commission, the Woodbury County Conservation Board and has held numerous other volunteer positions throughout the community.
Randy Hughes, executive creative director at Carmichael Lynch advertising agency in Minneapolis, attended the 2011 Creative Arts Awards in September 2011 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Hughes was involved with a television commercial for Subaru that was nominated for a 2011 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award in the Outstanding Commercial category and was named one of the Top 10 TV Commercials for 2010 by Time magazine. In the commercial, a father sees his daughter as a 5-year-old in the driver's seat of the car, when she is actually a teenager.
Dr. Steven Kelsey, P.T., D.P.T. joined the Multicare Health Clinic practice in Sioux City, Iowa in August 2011. Prior to his current role as a doctor of physical therapy, Kelsey served the greater Siouxland community as an insurance and investment professional for 25 years. Feeling a need for change, he pursued and received a doctorate of physical therapy degree from the Univ. of South Dakota (USD) in Vermillion, SD. He was honored by the USD faculty as the 2011 Clinical Education Student of the Year for his exceptional service provided to patients during his five clinical rotations. Kelsey is a member of the American Physical therapy Association (APTA) and the Iowa Physical Therapy Association (IPTA).

Lisa (Gollhofer) Feller was named nursing alumna of the year by the Morningside College Department of Nursing and the Morningside Student Nurses' Association. Feller will deliver the opening keynote speech titled "The Quality and Safety Education for Nurses Initiative: Reshaping Professional Identity Formation." for the 28th annual Maud Adams Nursing Research Day on
April 14, 2012 on Morningside's campus.

Kyle Ellerbeck has began a new job with as a fund development consultant for Kids Against Hunger a non-profit organization in Mankato, Minnesota. Ellerbeck previously worked for the
Boy Scouts of America as field director at Twin Valley Council.
Mark Mohl
was inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association's Basketball Hall of Fame during the Iowa boys' state basketball playoffs on March 9, 2012. Mohl was Iowa prep basketball's scoring leader as a senior, averaging 32.8 points in 1982-83 for Lost Nation. His 1,815 points and 48 points in a game broke school records held by his father and he went on to play one year at Kirkwood Community College before transferring to Morningside
Tom Betz has been promoted to director of advancement to guide Heelan development activities, including the annual fund, Gold Club, Msgr. Lafferty Fund and planned giving. Betz had worked as director of enrollment and alumni and formerly taught business at Heelan. He joined the Heelan staff 11 years ago and continues to serve as Heelan boys' basketball coach.
Dr. Juline (Hoferman) Albert was promoted to vice president of instruction and student
services at Western Iowa Tech Community College in March 2012. Albert joined WITCC in 1999
as associate director of TRIO and Student Support Services and was named associate dean of students in 2002. She was promoted to dean of students in 2006.
Christopher Kuhlmann was inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association's Basketball Hall of Fame during the Iowa boys' state basketball playoffs on March 9, 2012. Kuhlmann was a three-year standout at Denison High School, leading the state in scoring with 34.8 points a game as a senior in 1986-87. He led the North Central Conference with 23.1 points a game as a Morningside senior in 1990-91, and also set records for points in a game (54) and a season (696).
Jean McGinnis recently became one of the first PAs to earn a new specialty credential from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She was awarded a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Emergency Medicine, a distinction earned by meeting licensure, education and experience requirements and then passing an exam in the speciality. Jean is also employed by the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Jim Guttau of Denver, Colorado, owner of Guttau Public Relations was elected 2012 co-chair of CultureHaus, a social and educational support group of the Denver Art Museum connecting the young at heart with art.
Matt Ohman was elected to serve on the 2012 Sioux City Growth Organization board.
Stephanie M. Walker, MSPAS, PA-C has joined the dermatology practice of Dr. Mark DeMay in Sioux City, Iowa. Walker was most recently assistant professor of physician assistant studies at the University of South Dakota.
B.J. (Rohlena) McClellan and sister Beth (Rohlena) Boettcher started their own business in 2011 at Jolly Time Pop Corn in Sioux City called Jolly Time Koated Kernels. The sisters represent a fifth generation of the family American Pop Corn business. Their mother, Robbie (Smith) Rohlena 1994 began making chocolate covered caramel corn for her father, Wrede Smith, when he traveled to trade shows, giving brokers a sweet treat to remember little Jolly Time Pop Corn in little Sioux City, Iowa.
During their childhood, the girls helped their mother make the coated treats for holiday gifts.
That kitchen project spurred Beth on to began researching and developed some of her own flavors. She began selling the coated pop corn at the Sioux City Farmer's Market during the summer of 2010 where it became popular. McClellan then became involved, lending her business expertise from events-based marketing strategies she acquired while working for 3 years in Chicago. In May 2011, the sisters began their Koated Kernels business production in the Jolly Time kitchen at One Fun Place (the business address). They marketed their product aggressively at the Sioux City Farmer's Market from May through October 2011. Their flavored popcorn starts on the stove top boiling a flavor concoction, then coat the kernels by hand. It go into trays to bake in the oven for an hour, stirring at precise time intervals. Next, the coated product is cooled and hand packaged. The sisters are the only employees of their business and only produce Koated Kernels after orders are received to assure freshness. Jolly Time Koated Kernels currently has five local retailers that carry their product. B.J. is married to Tyler McClellan 2008.

Clarence was well-liked and was often called upon to serve as master of ceremonies for various community events. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, served as a state senator, an active Sioux City Shriner, and was the voice of the Sioux City All-America Concert Band for many years.
