1943

Mary (Cruikshank) Grefe recently retired after serving 12 years on the Morningside College Board of Directors. She currently resides inDes Moines, Iowa.

1959

Dick Daily has been retired since 2000.  However, he is works part time for the city of Blue Springs, Mo., volunteers at Union Station and is a Stephen Minister for his church.  Daily's grandson placed third in his division and weight class at the state wrestling championships in Columbia, Mo., and placed fourth in his weight class and division in a national wrestling tournament in Kansas City, Mo.  He is only in middle school.

John Gilbert and his wife, Carlene, enjoy traveling, spending time with family, bicycling, fishing, and playing golf.

1963

Don Hill is assistant headmaster for External Affairs at Mercersburg Academy, a boarding preparatory school in Mercersburg, Pa.  He and his wife, the former Linda Lockard, have two children and four grandchildren.

1965

Wayne Shively, Sioux City, is currently a part-time employee of the Community Action Agency of Siouxland. He is retired after teaching English and language arts for 33 years.

1967 & 1968

Barbara (Kubiatowicz) Danger retired in 2001 after a 34-year career teaching English and working as a media specialist. She hopes to hear from classmates from both the classes of 1967 and 1968, because she started at Morningside with the class of 1968 and graduated early in 1967.

1972
Donna (Tack) Ricks lives in Hudson, Iowa, with her husband Al Ricks 1973.  Their one daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Shane, gave them their first grandchild in July 2007.  Donna teaches English and speech at Dike-New Hartford High School.  She was inducted into the Iowa High School Speech Association's Hall of Fame in 2006.

1973 Kris (Toyne) O'Clair has her doctoral degree in education leadership and policy studies from the University of Denver. She is the mathematics intervention coordinator with Teaching and Learning in the Denver Public Schools.  Her husband, Tim 1972, have a daughter, Shelby 2000, who teaches drama and vocal music at George Washington High School in Denver, and a son, Ryan, who lives in Portland, Ore.

Wendy (Bancroft) DeMatto is office administrator for the Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she and her husband Rick DeMatto reside. She also serves as district coordinator for the Rocky Mountain District for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Triennial National Youth Gathering.

Michael Madsen, Chicago, Ill., currently works in the Finance Service Center at the Chicago Tribune.  Previously, he was with Midas International and Bankers Insurance Company, after 10 years in college sports information positions.

Joan (Phillips) Slavens resides in Denton, Texas, with her husband, J. Paul Slavens 1984, and their daughter, Madison. Joan teaches sixth-grade reading at a middle school and has a master's degree in education from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Tom Gerking is currently serving as the director of choral activities at Westwood Community School in Sloan, Iowa.  His program includes the 130-voice high school mixed chorus, two award-winning show choirs and several other outstanding performing ensembles.  He also serves on several in-school and state committees and is advisor to the Westwood High School Student Council.

Troy A. Sparks is a letter carrier who resides in Milwaukee, Wis. He also works in television production and as a sports writer for several community newspapers.

Jami (Walquist) McCuddin currently resides in New Virgina, Iowa, with her husband, Mike, and three children, Brennon, Alex, and Jenna.  She is a licensed massage therapist, and she and her husband own Step One Fitness, a small fitness center.

Jennifer (Rice) LeMar and her husband, Joel, are the parents of three children, Elizabeth, Sam and Ben.  Previously she worked in the information technology industry in Des Moines, Iowa, and Dallas, Texas.  Now she stays home with the kids and dabbles in a second career as a "digital artist" at www.scrapartist.com.

Kristin Johnson is an associate editor with the Iowa Geriatric Education Center at the University of Iowa. She lives in Iowa City with her husband, Dan Brock 1996. She is a long-time volunteer with the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center.

2002 and 2003

Michael and Tasha (Segebart) Eldridge reside in Red Oak, Iowa.  Michael is the eighth- through 12th-grade vocal music instructor for the Red Oak Community School District.  Tasha is a kindergarten through sixth-grade music instructor for the Farragut and Sidney public schools.  Tasha earned a master's degree in education and curriculum in May 2007 from Montana State University, and Mike is pursuing a master's degree in administration through Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Erin Mulvany
received a master's degree in theatre, with an emphasis in directing, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in May of 2007.  She is currently on staff for the Two Chairs Theatre Company in Grand Junction, Colo. She also works full time for St. Mary's Hosptial, also in Grand Junction.
