Selecting
a college is an exciting time! To smooth the way for you to become
a Morningside Student, we have developed a checklist of things to
do. This checklist will help you meet each phase of the
application and admission process.
A
campus visit is a must for every student! If you have not visited Morningside
College, we recommend that you set up an appointment. We are
open Monday through Friday from 8:00-5:00 and most Saturday mornings
from 9:00-12:00 noon. A campus visit includes meetings with faculty and
our Financial Planning staff, a campus tour, and a visit with current
students. Call 800-831-0806 x5111 to set up your visit!
Application Process...
Complete
an Application for Admission. This can be done by filing
out a paper application, or by completing our on-line
application. We will waive the application fee for students
who complete the on-line application or have completed a campus visit.
Have
your high school send an official grade transcript directly
to the Office of Admissions. This will document your completion of high
school and provide ACT or SAT scores.
Have
official grade transcripts from all colleges attended sent directly to
the Office of Admissions. An evaluation of transfer credits will be done
upon acceptance to Morningside College. NOTE : If you
are planning a campus visit, please bring a copy of your transcripts
with you.
If you have attended another college within the past 12 months you
are required to obtain a Transfer
Recommendation Form from the Dean of Students at the college from which
you are transferring. You may obtain this form from the Morningside College Office
of Admissions.
Admission Process...
When the Office of Admissions has
received all required documents and transcripts,
the information will be reviewed by the Admissions
Committee. Upon acceptance, you will be sent a letter verifying your
status as an admitted student to Morningside College.
Deposit...
Once you have been admitted to Morningside
College you will be asked to send an enrollment deposit of $100.00.
The deposit will allow other offices, like Housing and
Student Health, to send you important information. We
encourage early payment of this deposit to insure early
receipt of information and consideration for housing
and class registration.
Financial Aid...
The FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid) should be completed as soon as possible
after January 1, 2008. Morningside's code is 001879.
Scholarships are
based on a variety of information. The information needed for admission
to the college is also used to determine academic scholarships. Any additional
information will be requested when applicable.
