Achievement Awards
Scholarship Award: Up to $16,000 ($4,000 each year for four years).
Nomination Criteria: Admitted full time students are nominated based upon
their talents in the following:
Art
Cheerleading
Creative Writing
Instrumental Music
Dance |
Theatre
Computer Technology
Mass Communications (TV, Radio, Newspaper)
Vocal Music
Mock Trial |
Scholarship Process: To be eligible for
a “Talent Achievement
Award” students must identify their talent on their Admissions
Application and/or through their Admissions Representative. Students
must participate in an audition/evaluation exhibiting their talent to Morningside
Faculty. An audition/ evaluation or portfolio showing should take take place at a scholarship weekend
or may be set up on an individual basis through the Admissions
Office.
Students may not receive multiple Talent Achievement Awards in
excess of $4,000.
Students may receive only one renewable award (President's, Dean's, or Mustang) per year. The President's, Dean's and Mustang Awards are reserved for the first-time, full-time freshmen only.
Athletic Grants
Athletic grants are available to full time students with outstanding athletic
ability or potential. Grants are awarded by the coach of the
respective sport and will appear on a student’s financial
aid package. Student-athletes are also encouraged to participate
in other scholarship programs, should they meet the established
criteria. It is recommended that prospective student-athletes
obtain and complete an athletic questionnaire online or request
one from the Department of Athletics or the Office of Admissions.

Student Athlete Academic Eligibility Requirements:
All student athletes are admitted under the same criteria as non-student
athletes. Freshman student-athletes must meet two of the three
criteria; attain a high school GPA of 2.0 or above, be ranked
in the top 50% of their class, and/or have a minimum composite
ACT score of 18 (SAT of 870). In addition, student-athletes must
submit a FINAL high school transcript prior to registering for
classes AND prior to the initial practice date of any sport. The grant is renewable if the student continues to participate in the athletic program.
