National Merit "Finalists"
Full time students who have received recognition as a National Merit "Finalist" and identify Morningside College as their "first-choice" college are eligible
for a tuition scholarship at Morningside College. To receive the award, students must provide written confirmation of their Merit Scholarship Award and should participate in a Celebration of Excellence Weekend.
President’s Scholarship Award
Scholarship Award: Up to $40,000 ($10,000 each year for four years).
Nomination Criteria: Admitted full time students are automatically eligible
if they have at least a 27 ACT, are in the top 10% of their class,
and are in good standing.
Scholarship Process: To be eligible for the full “President’s
Scholarship Award” ($40,000), a student must meet the nomination
criteria AND should attend a Scholar Weekend*. Students choosing
not to attend a scholarship weekend will automatically be awarded
$24,000 ($6,000 each year for four years). The scholarship is
renewable if the student maintains a 3.0 grade point average
and remains
in good standing.
*Students who wish to be eligible
for the full $40,000 award but are not able to attend a scholar
weekend due to a conflict in schedule with high school activities
may request the opportunity to do an individual on-campus interview
through their Admissions Representative.
*President’s Scholars institutional gift aid may not exceed
tuition in a given year.
Dean’s Scholarship Award
Scholarship Award: Up to $24,000 ($6,000 each year for four years).
Nomination Criteria: Admitted full time students are automatically nominated
with a minimum 23 ACT or if they are in the top 20% of their high
school class, active in co-curricular activities, and are in good
standing.
Scholarship Process: To be eligible to receive a full “Dean’s
Scholarship Award” ($24,000), a student must meet the nomination
criteria AND should attend a Scholar Weekend*. Scholars choosing
not to attend a scholarship weekend will automatically be awarded
$12,000 ($3,000 each year for four years). The scholarship is
renewable provided the student remains in good standing.
*Students who wish to be eligible
for the full $24,000 award but are not able to attend a scholar
weekend due to a conflict in schedule with high school activities
may request the opportunity to do an individual on-campus interview
through their admissions counselor.

Mustang Co-Curricular Award
Scholarship Award: Up to $12,000 ($3,000 each year for four years).
Nomination Criteria: Eligible full time students are nominated based upon their leadership, involvement, and minimum academic standards. Distinguished achievements in the following areas will enhace a student's candidacy.

Scholarship Process: To be eligible for a “Mustang Co-curricular
Award” students should make their involvement known through
their application for admission as well as their contact with
their Admissions Representative. Nominees should participate
in a Celebration
of Excellence Scholar Weekend to be considered for the full award
($12,000)*. Complete the Mustang Co-Curricular Award Application
on-line.
Student Commitment: Students receiving the Mustang Co-Curricular
Award must participate in at least one co-curricular event per
semester while at Morningside College.

Students may receive only one renewable award (President’s,
Dean’s or Mustang) per year. The President’s, Dean’s
and Mustang Awards are reserved for first-time, full-time freshman
only.
