Majoring in theatre at Morningside is excellent preparation for working as an actor or director and in other aspects of theatre production. It’s also an important step for continuing to study theatre arts in graduate school. A double major in theatre and music expands your post-graduate options even further. There’s the additional option of getting a minor in dance.
An interdisciplinary major in arts administration (combines business courses with emphasis areas in the arts, including theatre and dance) prepares you to work on the stage or behind the scenes in all aspects of theatre management.
Recent graduates are employed as actors, production technicians, high school English and drama teachers, speech coaches, dancers, television directors and in many other professional and business-related careers. Also, graduates have been accepted into Master of Fine Arts graduate programs and other graduate programs outside the theatre discipline.
