The purpose of the Morningside Institutional Research Review Board approval process is twofold. On the one hand, it is to assure informed consent and to minimize any possible risk for human and/or animal subjects of studies completed by Morningside faculty, staff, and students. In addition, its intention is to protect students and faculty who are conducting work with human subjects from risk. Students and faculty engaging in research with human and/or animal subjects must complete an INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH REVIEW BOARD APPROVAL REQUEST FORM, providing the information requested, and submit the information to the Institutional Review Board Committee, Dr. Susan Burns, Chair, at least two weeks prior to beginning the study. Definitions and explanations of terms on the IRRB Approval Request Form are included in the instructions.
